" Meet me at the horizon of the soul. Where the journey is still fresh and we are aching for more."

A brilliant and powerful collection of poetry and prose. S.A. Quinox may be young age wise, but her soul is from another place and time, as reflected in Tales of Lacrimosa. Her brilliance shines through every piece, etching imprints on the reader's soul. Darkness makes a path for the light as Quinox's bleeding heart pleas for healing. Her words have a punch that at times bite with edgy rawness, while a next stanza cascades the spirit with a gentle calming breeze. It is quite remarkable actually, how a writer is able to transcend the reader in a few short lines. Quinox's style intrigues me; it is mysterious, it is unique, it is intelligent...it is as if I am reading a poet from the past, an art long lost. "I hold you like a blizzard among summer madness / I succumb beneath an avalanche of bones draped with fractions of who you used to be." If poetry has become cliched and somewhat mundane through use of social media and every other "writer" throwing together overused themes and dull lines, this surely will be a delightful change. Tales of Lacrimosa is raw, sometimes brutal and not for the faint of heart, yet it is simultaneously filled with love and wisdom and inspiration. "Please do not wait to live your life until the icy shivers of death come knocking g at your door." Lines like this from the start of Tales of Lacrimosa inspire me, and they made me want to devour every piece of raw, hot ink this gifted writer poured into her new book. I could not get enough. Quinox writes like a true artist, like a poet of past times, where the reader had to step back and take a deep breath because the senses become engulfed with pure feelings and the truth of it all. Her writing in Tales of Lacrimosa is chillingly powerful. I am honored to have been asked to read an advanced copy and write a review of S.A. Quinox's fascinating new book Tales of Lacrimosa.

'Tales of Lacrimosa' is undoubtedly one of the most beautifulbooks I have read. I have loved Quinox's work for a long while, particularly enjoying her debut collection 'Pandemonium'. Like 'Pandemonium', 'Tales of Lacrimosa' is an absolutely beautiful read. Iparticularly enjoy the way Quinox lays out her work, the black pageshighlight the light in both her words and her spirit. I feel I amreading the Stars speaking to me themselves. 'Tales of Lacrimosa' speaks of Quinox's Healing. Healing is at times a murky process and she offers us her tragedy and her transformation of hurt to hope in a truly rawand breathtaking way. A personal favourite from this collection is'Restless'. I find the way Quinox weaves her words a magical beauty andafter reading each piece I find myself exploring deeper and wiser partsof my own being. "These bones are still but my soul is restless.' I feel exactly this. Some further favourites from 'Tales of Lacrimosa' include Succumb, Holy Water and Ballerina. It is an absolute pleasure to havethe work of Quinox on my bookshelf. I find myself coming back to herwords with each new phase of the moon. Quinox's deep spirituality hasenabled me to better understand and explore my own and this has been anenormous gift to my Spirit.

What do you say about a writer like S.A. Quinox? There isn't much that her work doesn't say on its own. Her densevernacular, her heavy pen, her depth, the way she squeezes every drop ofemotion out leaves the audience full. Decadent, unique, inspiring, melancholy, hopeful, sorrowful... with Gothic undertones, and the backdrop of a crystal clear midnight sky. She shines, just like the moon, and also, just like themoon, whatever phase she is in, the world watches, and wonders, and marvels ather magic.

I was so excited to receive this poetry collection, as I follow the author on social media. The pieces she writes are many faceted. The book itself is beautiful, making the author's words seem to shimmer on the black pages. Her writings are as deep and smooth as velvet. She writes of her kinship with dark nights of the soul and her demons in a dreamy fashion which is quite mesmerizing. This is a collection I will keep out, not only for the richness of the writing but the book itself that is simply a work of art.

Tales of Lacrimosa is a passage through darkness; shadow work spilling into prose, a journey to the depths to bring light and healing to the twisted, coiling entrails of abandonment and pain.
SA Quinox is an old soul walking among us.
She examines each emotion, eviscerating sorrow and regret with surgical precision, showing a deep level of self-awareness; her work raw, compelling and crafted with a sombre elegance few can achieve.
Congratulations, an outstanding achievement.
